The 2004 lecture was delivered by Dr John E Warnock, Chairman of the Board, Adobe Systems.
'The Invention of PostScript and Acrobat - small innovations that had a big impact'
PostScript is a language that has profoundly changed the world of printing and publishing over the last two decades.
In the same way, Acrobat and the PDF file format have dramatically changed the way documents are communicated electronically.
The focus of the talk was on the history of the development of PostScript and PDF, and discussed the critical technical problems that were solved in their respective developments.
Also covered were the business obstacles that were encountered in trying to get these technologies adopted.
