To commemorate the centenary of Alan Turing's birth the Academy awarded £30,000 to schools, colleges and universities across the UK. The money was to fund projects that would enable learners to benefit from computing.
The bursaries were worth between £500 and £1000 and from a total of 200 applications 31 different projects were selected by a panel of judges. Whilst we were not prescriptive about specific things that could be funded, typical applications inlcuded activities such as buying equipment to run after school clubs, funding teacher CPD and organising competitions.
A full list of the bursary recipients along with a brief description of their projects is available below. We will be catching up with all organisations shortly and will report on the progress of each.
